In a letter dated 18/12/1954 to Michael and Sandra Beeso (her grandchildren) Millicent wrote...

"Dear Michael and Sandra, it did seem nice to have a letter from you after such a long time. I began to think you had forgotten all about me.
You will see by the address you are not to write to I.I.H (??) until I tell you to.
I have been very ill and at home for 10 weeks. Tell mummy I hope she is well and I am glad to hear Sandra is so much better. I am sending a little present for you both to buy something for christmas. God bless you both sweethearts, all my love Granxxxx".

As Millicents son Arthur divorced Irene in 1953 I assume Irene didnt keep in touch much with millicent. So this was probably why Millicent was so pleased to get a letter from her grandchildren.
